Contemplating the jump turn...
Appreciating the perfect line that is the Canale Sass de Forcia in the Italian Dolomites.

Cinque Torri Panorama
The five towers perched on their pedestal above the Falzarego Pass in the Italian Dolomites are a sight to behold. The open air war museum there is a stark reminder of the terrible events that took place there during the First World War despite looking so idyllic today. This shot was taken at 6:30am as the sun was coming up, with a lovely cloud inversion down in the valley. The Lagazuoi and Tofana di Rozes can be seen in the background.
Last light at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
A couple of weeks either side of solstice the sun sets on the Tre Cime north faces themselves. This particular evening I didn't think I was going to get anything due to heavy clouds in the west. However just at the sun was setting the sun came through perfectly illuminating the towers.
Sport climbing in the Dolomites
Sport climbing at Frea with views of Sassolungo and the Val Gardena.

Sunrise over Sorapiss
Taken on a beautiful morning with some spectacular cloud inversion covering Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Italian Dolomites. Autumn is just arriving creating some lovely colours.
A story of three...
Taken on a superb winter ski tour around the Tre Cime in the Italian Dolomites. Despite been very busy in the summer the area is almost completely deserted in the winter allowing you to fully appreciate the spectacular scenery in solitude. The central tower, Cima Grande is one of the classic six alpine north faces and is highly coveted during the summer months.
A night time ascent of Torre Quarta
This is a single 45 minute exposure of Patrick Deacon (orange and white) and Lynne Hempton (green and white) climbing the normal route of Torre Quatro at Cinque Torri in the Italian Dolomites. Tofana di Rozes can be seen in the background underneath the north star.
Painting with light at Rifugio Locatelli in front of the Tre Cime North Faces. The rifugio is fantastically situated and an overnight stay is definitely recommended to anyone staying in the area. One of my favourite places in the Italian Dolomites, especially in the evening when the light is incredible.
