An incredibly hard shot to achieve with the lack of light, wind in the cave and absurd amount of spray making a flash impossible to use. Taken with the Nikon D810 and 14-24 at the Gljúfrabúi Waterfall in Iceland.
Contemplating the jump turn...
Appreciating the perfect line that is the Canale Sass de Forcia in the Italian Dolomites.
Autumn colours at Budir
A beautiful autumn colour display at the Black Church of Budir. The surrounding lava fields are a joy to behold.
Back to nature
A remote fall somewhere in the Dolomites...
Southern Hawker (Aeshna cyanea) dragonfly
Photographing dragonflies is a test a patience as they have such unusual flight patterns and are a focussing nightmare. They do look fairytale up close though.
Taken with the Nikon 300mm, F2.8.
Taken on Breidamerkursandur beach as ice calves off the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier, part of larger Vatnajökull Glacier. The ice blocks flow into the Jokulsarlon lagoon and gets washed out to sea before the tides deposits them back on the beach.
Eye in the Sky
A four photo stitch taken at Reynisfjara lagoon during a beautiful display of the northern lights.
Cinque Torri Panorama
The five towers perched on their pedestal above the Falzarego Pass in the Italian Dolomites are a sight to behold. The open air war museum there is a stark reminder of the terrible events that took place there during the First World War despite looking so idyllic today. This shot was taken at 6:30am as the sun was coming up, with a lovely cloud inversion down in the valley. The Lagazuoi and Tofana di Rozes can be seen in the background.
Last light at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
A couple of weeks either side of solstice the sun sets on the Tre Cime north faces themselves. This particular evening I didn't think I was going to get anything due to heavy clouds in the west. However just at the sun was setting the sun came through perfectly illuminating the towers.
A story of three...
Taken on a superb winter ski tour around the Tre Cime in the Italian Dolomites. Despite been very busy in the summer the area is almost completely deserted in the winter allowing you to fully appreciate the spectacular scenery in solitude. The central tower, Cima Grande is one of the classic six alpine north faces and is highly coveted during the summer months.
