Since Bo Hilleberg designed his first tent back in 1973, Hilleberg has made tents. That’s in fact all they have been doing. The family run company now has 45 years of experience in manufacturing lightweight, all-season tents of the highest quality and have gained an international reputation for excellence in their field.
After integrating reliability, adaptability, ease of use, durability, and comfort into the optimum combination for the intended use of a particular tent, Hilleberg then aim to make it as light as possible. While recognising that low weight is of course important in a tent, they will not make their tents low weight at the cost of sacrificing any of the other attributes completely. Low weight is not an end in itself, but rather the foundation that ties the other criteria together. This is what they call the Hilleberg principle.
